- Each occupational therapy session addresses a variety of functional and foundational skills, needed to enhance a student's level of independence and success, as well as their ability to access, engage, and participate within their educational setting.

- Treatment sessions may occur in the following ways:

- Consultation and collaboration with teachers, families, school personnel, etc.
- Observation of the student in the classroom or different educational environments
- Meetings regarding student's educational plan, performance, needs, strengths, etc.
- Treatment planning to meet individualized educational goals and objectives
- Development of resources to share with teachers, school personnel and families

- Frequency and duration of services vary depending on school program, student abilities, and areas of need.
- Determination of services and therapeutic recommendations are a team decision. Contributors to the decision making process include, but are not limited to:

- There are times throughout the school year that treatment sessions and activities follow a theme. Themes may be based upon current classroom themes, as well as upcoming seasons, holidays, events, etc. All treatment sessions are designed to build upon foundational skills needed for academic participation.
