STRENGTHENING EXERCISES FOR KIDS
One of the keys to fine motor coordination success is a strong core. Postural STABILITY needs to be established before a child can demonstrate refined, distal MOBILITY. Here are some easy core/postural strengthening activities and exercises that can be completed at home to improve your child’s fine motor coordination success in the classroom and throughout the school day. Try assuming each position and holding for 10 seconds and then repeat for up to three times/sets/repetitions. Gradually, build your strength and endurance and see how long you can hold each position--up to 1 minute.
