Occupational Therapy School-Based Rubric
Hello School-Based OT's,
We have developed a rubric to help determine the need for occupational therapy services in school. We are searching for school-based OT's willing to trial our rubric and participate in this study. Thank you in advance for your time, consideration and participation.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing a rubric to determine occupational therapy recommendations in school-based practice. Although standardized testing scores, occupational profiles, clinical observations and clinical reasoning skills all contribute to determining if services are warranted, there continues to be confusion and inconsistencies among school-based professionals as to how to reliably determine the need for occupational therapy services.
This rubric was designed to help occupational therapists make clinical judgments on whether a student would benefit from therapeutic services services within the educational environment and to improve consistency in practitioner recommendations regarding service delivery mode, frequency and duration within school-based practice.
Please utilize the rubric to complete the survey in order for us to collect inter-rater reliability data. Due to the rubric being under copyright law, in order for you to utilize the rubric you must complete the survey. Some people have been able to access the rubric link within the survey, while others have had some technological difficulties. Please contact us directly at [email protected] with any difficulty and/or request access to the rubric through the google survey. If access is requested--we will grant it
