Information for School-Based OT's
Shared by the fabulous Katrina Flade at Burlington County Special Services School
Hello!
I hope you are well as I am sure your launch into the new school year is in full swing! I am sending along information about Jefferson’s upcoming professional development opportunity for school based OTs (below) and requesting that you assist with spreading the word!
About: iPads to Support Students with Autism:
We are offering our 2nd annual School Based Practice Innovations Lab! This year’s topic is iPads to Support Students with Autism. I will co-facilitate the “Lab” with Dr. Emily Smith, a school-based occupational therapist serving on an assistive technology team. This low-cost educational experience will focus on empowering school based occupational therapists working with students with Autism to go beyond iPad use for recreation and reward to effectively promote school participation and academic outcomes.
We anticipate an engaging, informative, and collaborative learning experience for all!
This Innovations Lab will entail online Zoom meetings and learning activities on Google Classrooms.
-When: September 23- October 21st
-Where:
· 3 Online meetings via Zoom: 7:00 -8:15 PM eastern time on Thursdays: September 23, October 7th, October 21st
· Google Classroom: Interactive online activities and discussions between Zoom meetings
-Contact Hours: 12
